Carolene Goodwyn-Harris: Special Moments by Carolene Event Planning and Premier Designs Jewelry


Carolene is a native Virginian. She was born and raised in Portsmouth and now lives in Suffolk with her husband, Clinton Harris. Her priorities in this order are, GOD, family and service. Treasuring life's special moments and occasions are very much a part of Carolene, her spirit, her life purpose and calling.

She attended Averett University in Danville, VA where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management/Marketing; she has also completed graduate courses at Old Dominion University, in Norfolk, VA.

Carolene is a sales and marketing professional with broad-based general management experience in soliciting new business and client experience development. She has a background in corporate and field operations environments, with a focus on profitable business development, corporate giving and fundraising, client value management, and service excellence.
In 2005, while planning her sister-in-laws wedding, Carolene decided to take her business interests to the next level, launching Special Moments by Carolene Event Planning. During April, 2007, she joined forces with Premier Designs Jewelry as an Independent Distributor. Creating the 'WOW" effect for every event and enhancing the experience with unique jewelry pieces is what sets Carolene apart among the best. Carolene is a Lifetime Member of the Girl Scouts USA. Currently is serves on the Board and is a National Delegate for Girl Scouts of Colonial Coast Council, Chesapeake, VA. She is also a member of The Friends of Hampton Roads. As a member of EWI, she served as the Ways and Means Director for 2010-2011. Daily, Carolene's aim is "service with a purpose at its best!"

Vice President Elect-VACANT
Although the Vice President position is currently vacant, we are seeking a candidate that will make themselves available to assist our President wherever possible, filling in during her absences, and offering your support as she takes on her new role leading our chapter. The position is designed so that you can learn about the role of Chapter President during this period ultimately leading to a smooth transition at the end of 2010.

Ellyn Bess, Chapter Secretary/Board Secretary
As the Chapter’s Secretaries, you are each responsible for recording the minutes of the business/board meetings of the chapter, maintain the permanent records for the chapter and handle all official correspondence.

Dona Overstreet, Treasurer
Dona, as Treasurer you will be responsible for the safekeeping of the chapter’s funds, maintaining accurate records of all receipts and disbursements, the presentation of the annual budget at our annual business meeting in September, monthly financial reports and for notifying each member of our annual assessment and of any financial obligation to the chapter.







Corinne Zedd, Membership Director
Corinne, as Membership Director you are responsible for recruiting new members, retaining current membership and processing all changes in membership in accordance with the bylaws. The Board’s decision regarding a prospective member will be largely based on your findings and recommendations.










Tanya Brown, Publication Director
As Publication Director, Tanya, you will be responsible for the preparation, publication and distribution of the Pulse, our chapter’s official newsletter. You’ll continue the tradition of providing useful and necessary information in a professional document as it relates to the culture and activities of our organization and specifically, our chapter.
