What is EWI?
EWI is the premier organization for networking and leadership development for today’s business professionals and their firms. It is an association of key women working with their executives to promote their firms and improve their community. The Hampton Roads Chapter has 20 Member Firms and 20 Representatives, and our numbers are growing!

Who are Member Firms and Representatives?
“Member firms is our term to refer to the businesses who are members of our organization. Our meetings, conferences and board positions are comprised of their individual “representatives.” To review a list of our member firms, please click the header “About,” and go to the “Member Firm” drop-down.

 How long has EWI of Hampton Roads Chapter been in existence?
EWI of Hampton Roads Chapter was chartered May 1987.

What are the benefits of joining EWI?
Simply put, the benefits are “connections, careers and community.” EWI brings together key individuals from diverse businesses for the purpose of promoting member firms, enhancing personal and professional development and encouraging community involvement.

 How does EWI help the community?
EWI of Hampton Roads Chapter participates in the EWI ASIST scholarship program, an annual Reading Rally, and many other philanthropic endeavors.

 In May 2009, the Hampton Roads Chapter will award a total of $2,350 through the ASIST Scholarship program for adult students in scholastic transition. The first place local winners of the ASIST scholarships will also be submitted to the EWI Corporate scholarship competition, for the opportunity to win additional monies.

 The annual Reading Rally will be held at Pembroke Elementary School, Virginia Beach in October of 2009.


When are the EWI Hampton Roads Chapter Chapter meetings?
Chapter membership meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month at different venues. Networking begins at 6:00 p.m. with dinner and a program following at 6:30 p.m. Member firms are asked to be represented at a minimum of nine meetings per year.

 What are the dues to join EWI?
There is a one time admission fee of $50.00, which is divided between the Chapter and the Corporate office. In addition to the one time fee, annual dues assessments are as follows:

                Chapter dues:                    $70.00
                Corporate dues:                 $170.00
                                                             $290.00 per year
